SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
1. The SWM Service has now been managed by Waste Management Companies under “The Suthra Punjab Program” lunched by GO Pb in December 2024.
2. Waste collection, transportation and developing/maintaining waste disposal sites has been outsourced through the waste management companies.
3. The selected contractors are collecting waste from door to door (where possible), temporarily store and transporting it using appropriate plant & equipment and developing waste dumping site.
4. Citizen’s complaints related with SWM are being handled by the Contractors through “Suthra Punjab App/ Complaint Management System (CMS)” developed by PITB and implemented by LG&CDD.
